Initial Situation

Prior to the DAM implementation, there was no unified data pool. Rather, various storage systems existed in the form of complex folder structures, managing all marketing materials.

Due to the enormous volume of files, it was nearly impossible to cleanly migrate and unify legacy data within the storage systems. This resulted in many duplicates and uncertainties regarding old version states.

New employees, in particular, often faced challenges navigating within the complex structures.

As a result of these complex filing structures, file retrieval became increasingly time-consuming for every team member.

Similarly, content had to be regularly recreated because, for instance, layout data of old brochures or datasheets were no longer locatable. Additionally, in many cases, there was uncertainty about whether a file was still current and permissible for use.

Simultaneously, the internal file management system was not particularly efficient. Especially from the home office, long loading times had to be considered, exacerbated by large files (e.g., TIFF and InDesign).

All of this led to significant time losses and substantial decreases in productivity, prompting the Herrmann Ultrasound team to decide in November 2022 to utilize the 4ALLPORTAL DAM.
