Rheinhessen Touristik GmbH and Rheinhessenwein e.V. are responsible for the strategic marketing of Germany’s largest wine-growing region with over 2,000 wineries. With a clear focus on sustainable tourism development and the combination of urban and rural experiences, they position Rheinhessen as an innovative tourism region. The organisations work closely with tourism professionals, wineries, wine retailers and the trade press to promote the region’s strengths and create experiences for visitors and partners.
Originally, Rheinhessen Touristik used two outdated systems to manage image material and brand information: the Joomla-based Rheinhessen Mediathek and the ‘Rheinhessen-Zeichen’ platform.
These systems were technically limited and not scalable enough to meet the increasing demands. Manual approval processes, a lack of filtering capabilities and the use of WeTransfer for external data exchange created significant inefficiencies.
Media data was scattered across multiple platforms, resulting in long search times and a significant loss of efficiency.
Manual approval processes also slowed down workflows, requiring time-consuming coordination. The lack of filtering options also made image search difficult, especially when it came to searching for content by topic, mood or location.
Data sharing with external partners was limited by file size restrictions and lack of scalability. In addition, rights issues and potential copyright infringements could not be resolved efficiently, causing additional uncertainty and delays.
The new uploader feature lets us seamlessly integrate content from our partner hubs into our system—a real game-changer for our collaboration.
After a structured selection phase, Rheinhessen Touristik decided to use 4ALLPORTAL as a central (DAM) system to centrally and securely organise its 12,000 assets.
The DAM is mainly used by the press and marketing department, but is also available to external advertisers who can access the content after registration. The platform currently has 274 registered users.
